We reimagined the commercial proposal simulator for a leading car rental company.

Client & Challenge

The client offers mobility services across Europe, providing a seamless experience of transport and payment options, from car sharing to flexible car subscriptions. Their goal is to be the preferred mobility service provider for every mobility need by enabling innovative ways to connect and move people.

Our mission was to reimagine and enhance the Commercial Proposal Simulator for a leading car rental company. The existing simulator suffered from low utilization due to slow performance, a lack of intuitiveness, and repetitive tasks that discouraged employee engagement.

We transformed the simulator into a simplified digital solution that streamlines operations, improves workflows, and boosts overall effectiveness. By creating a faster, more intuitive interface and reducing repetitive tasks, employees can focus on higher-value activities, enhancing productivity and satisfaction.

UX Design Phase

The first phase of the project was a 5-week design thinking journey, culminating in a comprehensive insights report. We started with in-depth user interviews with internal and external stakeholders, uncovering key challenges, task pain points, and needs.

Based on these insights, we conducted ideation workshops with direct and indirect users to foster collaboration and problem-solving. These sessions generated innovative ideas, prioritized solutions, and addressed critical pain points. Finally, user journey maps and flows were developed to visualize and optimize the end-to-end experience, ensuring a more intuitive, effective solution.

Deep User Insights

In-depth interviews uncovered key challenges, daily task pain points, and business needs, forming the foundation for solution design.

Collaborative Ideation

Workshops with direct and indirect users generated innovative ideas, prioritized solutions, and optimized the end-to-end user experience.

UI Design Phase

Building on insights from the ideation phase, we created low-fidelity wireframes to outline design changes and gather feedback. Using this input, we developed a high-fidelity prototype resembling the final product, incorporating refined visuals, interactions, and layout adjustments. The prototype was validated with users to ensure it met their needs, provided an intuitive experience, and aligned with business objectives.

Iterative Prototyping

Low-fidelity wireframes enabled quick visualization and refinement of design concepts based on early feedback.

High-Fidelity Validation

The final prototype closely resembled the product, ensuring usability, intuitive interactions, and alignment with user needs.

Development Phase

During the development phase, we focused on implementing features that enhanced usability and efficiency. A variety of interface components were deployed to improve engagement and interaction. Pre-configured scenarios were created for the most common tasks, reducing repetitive actions and data entry, saving users significant time.

Advanced filters were added, allowing users to refine results without losing context, maintaining full visibility of the page. Additionally, a group editing feature was implemented, enabling users to update multiple items simultaneously, further streamlining workflows and boosting productivity.

Flows that we implemented

Based on research insights, we created wireframes and prototypes for the main user flows, ensuring a seamless experience. Wizard-style flows guide users step by step, with actions depending on entered information, simplifying complex processes and giving more control.

Additionally, processes previously managed via email and paper were digitized, enabling efficient document insertion, validation, and exchange, keeping all users informed of progress.

The Solution

The solution we developed transformed the client’s mobility platform into a more efficient, intuitive, and user-friendly system. By implementing streamlined workflows, pre-configured scenarios, and advanced interface components, we were able to reduce development time by up to 50% and increase design consistency by 80%. 

Extensive usability testing ensured the platform met user needs while minimizing errors, reducing user mistakes by 50%.
